Your learner response for October exam.

1) Type up your feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).
 WWW:
This is a very useful learning experience with regards to the step-up to A-level. your contributions in class are excellent so the challenge now is transferring that knowledge and understanding into exam conditions.

EBI:
you need to revise the theories... you don't use all 3 narratives theories in Q1 or any genre theories in Q3. you need to these.

2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Identify at least one potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment.

Q1; I missed out the second paragraph which i could've written about Barnes 'enigma code and action code' also i could've written about Propp 'characters'.

Q2: In question two i could've writer about the stereotypical masculinity shown in the two adverts and how both of them showcasing an element of overcoming difficulty from the image used.

Q3: In this question i should've included evidence and theories to get more marks. I should've included Steve neil - generic conventions but included difference. I should've included how film makers exploit and sound economic point  to show an loyal audience.

Q4: In this question i should've used paragraphs and included how the reading could be intercepted as polysemic. Also should've included an conclusion.

3) Read this exemplar response from a previous Year 12 (a strong B grade). Identify at least one potential point that you missed out on for each question in the assessment.

One point i missed out would be actually using the theorist in my paragraphs and explaining how it can be used in films.

4) Did you get any media terminology or theory wrong in the assessment? Make a note of it here for future revision, including theories/terminology that you could have used but didn't.

For future revision the media terminology i should use would be that applying to the question. i should theorists that apply to the question such as genre theorists such as Neale and Hartly and many more that applies.

5) Identify your strongest question. Why did you do better on this question?

My strongest question would be question 1 as i got 4 marks out of 8. I did well because it included understanding about the theorist and how affects the question.

6) Identify your weakest question. Why did you score lower on this particular task?

My weakest question would be question 3 as it scores 2 marks due to the lack of reasoning and not using theorists that apply to the question as i used genre theorist instead of narrative ones.

7) Re-write your weakest answer in full (or, if it was the essay question, write out a full essay plan). Use the mark scheme to identify anticipated content you can add to your response and make sure your typed re-draft is a top-level answer.

My had written this on my notebook, my answer included the first paragraph was about genre importance for audiences.
My second paragraph contained how producers  interests audiences and apply media theorists in their movie or TV show.

8) Email your re-written answer (7) to the next person below you on the blog list. Ask them to provide a WWW/EBI response before next Friday and then include this underneath your answer on your blog.

I've done this but I've shown them instead. Comments were:

include genre theory - Neale, Abercromie and Chandler.

included a structured answer with clear paragraphs and use media terminology.

include- applying media theorist however, media companies don't blandly apply media theorists they just have elements of them.
