The equilibrium of this film is Cassie (protagonist) is in school having a normal day without any worries when the disequilibrium occurs few minutes into the film. A shift occurs when they see the clouds turn dark and the power goes out as Cassie is texting her mum/and or friend and then everyone that even alone started havoc. This means Cassie has to try to save her brother as he was taken from a safe space where she and her family were staying at by 'government officials' who were really the 'others' trying to take the children and control them. The new equilibrium is Cassie finding him and breaking all the kids from the base they were held in.
